Comments: Flew aboard 3 Mar 1970 on a C-1 for 3 days in Da Nang. Assigned to VAW-116. Went mess cooking as I was an ATAN. Started off in garbage - and advanced to silverware but due to a good attitude and work ethic I was transferred to Chiefs Mess where I worked until June when I was advanced to 3RD class. I returned to AT shop and worked flight deck as AT maintenance t4ech. Returned to San Fran at the end of the cruise. Worked at North Island until VAW-116 went to USS Constellation |
